Helpful Hints for Residential Relocations

• Do remember to keep all your personal documents such as passport, visas, legal documents, bank statements, medical files and other important documents with you. Keep them safely in bag that you intend to carry with you so the packers may not pack these items inadvertently.
• All personal and high valued items such as jewelry, coin collection, family heirloom and other important items should be kept with you. It is advisable to carry them separately with yourself to avoid inadvertent loss.
• It is recommended that you keep all suitcases, bags and other personal luggage separately in a corner and mark them as ‘do not ship’.
• Any fragile items such as crockery, dinner sets, expensive stationery or any other item must be clearly marked for the packers so that great care is rendered while packing them.
• It is general notion for women folks to accumulate stuff that may not be in use anymore but feel that ‘they might come in handy sometime’. Drop this right away and ensure that you are moving light. Have a garage sale and get rid of all those items that you don’t need anymore. Maybe someone else can find a better use for them.
• Do not carry any explosive or flammable item with you such as matches, detergents or any other flammable liquid.
• Empty the gas tanks at a nearest gas station. Also remember to unhook al electronic items.
• Empty and defrost your kitchen 48 hours before you plan to move. To eliminate any bad odor place a box of baking soda.
• Lastly, have a checklist for all items that you intend to carry with you.
